Greenbears Ultra Baseball Champions The Greenbears' final Ultra baseball fantasy sports league was held in 1999. We have replaced it with an Ultra Simulation League, and a single-season online fantasy league. The Commissioner (Brian) dominated Late Night League Baseball, his Pennsylvania Fighting Amish winning every season's championship. This is one reason why major changes were made, to become the Greenbears League in 1997. It wasn't always a blowout for Pennsylvania, however. In 1991, the first full year of Late Night League Baseball, the Salt Lake Sultans had a 60-point lead in the first week of August. However, they surrendered the lead two weeks later, and finished fourth. In the unfinished season of 1994, Pennsylvania jumped to a big early lead. Then the Bedford Bulldogs began a major run in July, and closed to within about 350 points when the strike ended the season prematurely. We'll never know what would have happened if the entire season would have been played. Finally, the closest finish ever was in 1996, when Lonnie's Brooklyn Bashers charged from fourth place before the All-Star break to finish within 50 points of first place in the final week. In 1997, we split the league into two divisions, with the winners meeting in a three-week playoff called the Greenbears Series. In 1998, we returned to a single division. In 1999, we added a "Season" league (also called a "standard" or "single-season" league) and a Diamond Mind Baseball game simulation league. We plan to have the Season league online in 2000; and drop the Ultra league completely, in favor of an "Ultra" Diamond Mind baseball league. A complete history of each of our baseball teams is available, complete with team logos. To read the complete standings for every year, go to the Baseball Records Page. (If someone no longer competes in Greenbears leagues, he will be listed under an "alias"):
